·         Painted entry and hallway of a church, painted youth room.

·         Repaired a stucco wall in fellowship hall.

·         Built a video cart which supported the video cameras being used to video church services for internet broadcast.

I Thessalonians 2:16&17~May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

Go to build, but expect to grow!

Go to witness,

 but expect to be blessed!

Dear Fellow Servants of Christ~

Concrete for Christ, the Rio Grande Valley Adult Missions Team, has traveled to Reynosa, Mexico for many years repairing, building, painting, distributing food and Spanish New Testaments and doing what is needed to help churches in the Reynosa, Mexico area for many years now. We also regularly work at the Pilar de Esperanza orphanage.

Due to continued drug-related violence in the city of Reynosa, the team has not gone into the city of Reynosa for the last several years. In 2010 we worked at San Valentin, a colony in the country outside of Reynosa, and rebuilt the roof on a church plant there. This year we are planning to go to the orphanage in the country near Reynosa to help them with construction and repair projects.  We are also planning to do construction/repair projects for a local church or churches on the Texas side of the Rio Grande. Projects are still in the planning stage.

As always, there is more to do than time to do, so please pray that we use our resources and time wisely. We need kitchen workers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, sheetrockers, painters, seamstresses. If you are a willing worker, God can use your abilities.

Since we are planning to cross over into Mexico, your passport will be needed. Going across the border will be a personal choice. If you do NOT want to cross the border, we will have work projects for you on the Texas side of the border.

Registration Fee: $350

$150 deposit due Feb. 1

$200 due Feb. 14

For those unable to make the trip, participation is still possible.

  •  Pray, pray, pray! Pre-trip planning, travel safety, team unity and cooperation, work project skills and safety, team health, finances, receptiveness to the gospel, good Christian fellowship. We need God’s clear direction.
  •  Construction and repair, wiring, plumbing, paint, etc. all require materials. Please consider giving to this mission project as a church or as an individual. We’ve set the “materials” budget at $8000.
  •  We often have willing workers who request help with the registration cost of $350. If you cannot go personally, you may want to help with the expenses of someone who can work but does not have the money available for their own registration.
  •  We also distribute food (basics like flour, sugar, corn meal and rice) and Spanish New Testaments to Mexicans in poor areas of Reynosa. The New Testaments have been donated and the food distribution is set at $600. If we do not go into Reynosa personally, we will get these supplies to Mexican pastors so they can distribute them.
  •  The orphanage is in great need of work and operating funds. The budget has been set as “whatever we can raise for them” before going. If we cannot go to the orphanage, we will route money for their day-to-day expenses.

As you can see, a trip of this nature involves many: God, workers, pray-ers, and donors. We appreciate your participation. All donations are tax deductible and should be mailed to Evangelical Covenant Church, PO Box 164, Wausa, NE 68786, memo: Concrete for Christ.
